Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened plant milk
  • 4 tsp ground flaxseed
  • ½ cup oat flour
  • 1 batch Extra Crunchy Wheat-Free breadcrumbs (pg 47)
  • 2 medium heads cauliflower, cut into florets (about 1.5 lbs each)
  • Teriyaki sauce (pg 60)
  • Black & white sesame seeds (pretty but using both is optional, the white is most visible)

Recipes from Javant Benton’s cookbook, Make Your Own, follow a clean nutritarian diet choice of ingredients. Rather than using store bought, with questionable ingredients, Javant offers alternatives, which means that a recipe may include other recipes from the book. This is evident in this recipe. Using his version of these ingredients will give the truest version of his recipe. Of course, the reader is free to use what they desire.

Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

Whisk plant milk, flaxseed, and oat flour; let stand 5 minutes. Place breadcrumbs on a plate.

Set up dipping station.

Dip florets in wet mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs. Arrange on baking sheet.

Don’t overlap florets.

Bake 20 minutes or until golden. Remove wings from the oven and rush generously with teriyaki sauce—or whatever you use

Bake another 15 minutes or until they look sticky.

Brush with extra sauce and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes
Best eaten immediately.
Thin wet mixture with a little plant milk if it becomes too thick.
